"To become a model NGO/Village partnership for
Strengthening Families and Communities.”
mISSION sTATEMENT
“Working with each village and consistent with our principles, we develop programs that care for the poor, foster self-reliance and promote service to others. We share this experience and knowledge freely.”
guiding principles
Integrity
Proverbs 20:7 – “The just man walketh in his integrity; his children are blessed after him.”
We are open, honest and law abiding in all of our dealings. We are consistent in our actions and meet the commitments we make. We demonstrate the moral courage to do what is right.
Respect for Culture
Matthew 22:39 – “Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself”
We are respectful of the culture and customs of those we serve and recognize them as the experts in their country.
Fiscal Responsibility
Matthew 25:23 – “Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things”
We treat the donations we receive as a sacred trust. We create and support programs that can become self-sustaining after we are gone.
Hard Work
Genesis 3:19 – “In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground.”
We teach all to work hard and as a team; We demonstrate this example through our leadership.
Balanced Development
Luke 2:52 – “And Jesus increased in wisdom [Knowledge] and stature [Health], and in favor with God [Spiritual] and man [Social]”
Programs are designed to meet the needs of all family members and the community in which they live. Programs address all four areas of well being. Individual projects support one or more of these areas;
Knowledge – Using education to benefit others
Health – Physical and emotional health and safety
Spiritual – Strengthening connection with a higher power through charity and service to others
Social – Building and nurturing healthy relationships
